How the Duplex Escalator Cleaning Machine Works
To start the machine simply lower the handle slightly. Pull the trigger to release water and detergent. Cylindrical brushes flick dirt onto rotating belts which carry it to a central recovery tank. This tank is easily removed for emptying. To stop the machine simply raise the handle back to the upright position.

This model offers incredible value for money for routine maintenance cleaning of escalators and moving walkers whilst having the added benefit, with a simple change of brushes, tanks and cover transforming it into a standard Duplex 420 floor cleaning machine.
This model has a 14" cleaning width and unique patented guide rails making it suitable for regular maintenance cleaning of escalators and moving walkers.
The patented guide rail system perfectly aligns into the treads of the escalator or moving walkers thus ensuring the safe operation of the machine whilst in motion.
Cleaning escalator is a two stage process, firstly the machine is connected to a tub vacuum cleaner for a ‘dry sweep’ to remove dust and that is followed by a ‘damp wash’ as the machine sprays a fine mist of water and cleaning fluid onto the treads before scrubbing the escalator’s treads using special brushes.
The Duplex Escalator Cleaning Machine uses minimal water which is a key requirement of escalator and moving walkers manufacturers whilst also being environmentally friendly.
The machine can also be used to clean the profiled lead on/lead off areas at the top and bottom of the escalator.
The brushes have been designed in consultation with leading escalator manufacturers and reach fully into the treads where dust and grime can accumulate.

DUPLEX, PERFECT FOR ESCALATOR CLEANING
Patented Escalator Guide Rail System
The Duplex Escalator Cleaning Machine is fitted with a patented guide rail system to allow safe operation whilst the escalator is in motion. The brushes, designed after consultation with major escalator manufacturers, reach fully into the tracks, cleaning where dirt accumulates, without damaging the surface.
Long Escalator Brushes
Fit the special brushes provided, with their equidistant bristles to reach right down into the tracks forming the stair tread of the escalator steps.
The pitch of these tracks or channels may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Optional OTIS/KONE – THYSSEN – SCHINDLER/MITSUBISHI brushes are available upon request.
The brushes of the DUPLEX ESCALATOR machine are made from a combination of special plastic materials with no abrasive power, ensuring that no damage is caused to the metal steps of escalators or moving walkways

Wet and Dry Cleaning Modes:
The Duplex Escalator Cleaner work quickly in two modes.
In Dry Mode the dust accumulated in treads is swept away by the high speed brushes.
In Wet Mode a low
moisture scrubbing with minimal water and detergent is used to bring the finish back to escalators within two or three passes.
In sweeping mode the Duplex Escalator Cleaning Machine thoroughly removes the excess dirt from the escalator tread. A vacuum is attached above the central recovery tank and removes the waste. Once this cycle is complete the wet scrub mode is started by squeezing the trigger. Dual large capacity clean solution tanks then dispense detergent evenly along the full length of both brushes. The twin recovery belts simultaneously lift dirt solution from the brushes to a central recovery tank. This process deep cleans the escalator tread in minimal time.
Clean to The Edge
The Duplex Escalator is able to clean to the edge on both sides of an escalator. After an initial deep clean all following cleans become quicker and easier. Both up and down escalators can be cleaned in just a few passes, so there is no need to close the escalators for long periods or clean outside of operating hours.
Die Cast Aluminum Case
Duplex Escalator is made with a die cast aluminum case and frame, and the internal gears run on stainless steel sealed bearings. The motor is single phase induction and is rated for continuous running. It is sealed against steam and chemicals used during the cleaning process. The synthetic rubber pick up belts and rollers are also chemical resistant.
